AI-Canvas-creation-1

As the lead designer for Strata AI Canvas at Palo Alto Networks, I spearheaded the vision for a next-generation data exploration tool within the Strata platform. AI Canvas leverages natural language queries and rich visualizations to help security teams quickly interpret and act on their data.
I defined and drove the long-term strategy for AI creation and intelligent workflows, shaping priorities at the executive level and aligning cross-functional partners around a user-centered approach. My role spanned end-to-end product design across AI Canvas and interconnected systems—including AI Generator, Widget Library, and multi-turn modification flows—ensuring a seamless, consistent user experience.
Beyond unifying UX, I modernized the platform’s visual identity, introducing a refreshed UI style supported by high-impact design storytelling. AI Canvas reimagines data observation by overcoming traditional SCM dashboard limitations—such as hidden data and fragmented troubleshooting—and empowers users with customized insights by integrating existing reports, the SCM widget database, and AI generator technology. The result is a product that prioritizes value, efficiency, clarity, and ease of understanding in AI-driven data workflows.

At its core, AI Canvas consists of widgets and canvases:
Widgets—Individual data visualizations created through natural language queries or Strata Copilot. These widgets can display various types of charts, tables, and other visualizations based on your security data. The widget library serves as a repository for all created widgets, allowing for easy reuse and management.
Canvases—Customizable workspaces where administrators can assemble multiple widgets using drag-and-drop functionality. A canvas provides a comprehensive view of related security data, eliminating the need to switch between different dashboards.

This transformative approach delivers four key advantages: speed—obtaining instant insights without waiting for new reports; simplicity—using plain English instead of complex query languages; flexibility—creating and arranging widgets to suit your specific needs; and collaboration—saving and sharing canvases with colleagues.

Emphasizing flexible data arrangement and the reliability of AI-generated information, AI Canvas ultimately enabling users to explore and save data diagrams using natural language. The AI Canvas (Released Version) usage intention of users has been enhanced by 49%, and 53% of the users continue to use AI to create the data visualization they need. Feel free to view the tech doc Palo Alto Netoworks released for AI Canvas.

Highlighted and Amplified Impact of Design Works

I champion design vision and strategy across teams, establishing best practices and integrating emerging trends to elevate product experiences. Leading end-to-end UX, visual, and interaction design, I drive the full design lifecycle — from concept to delivery — ensuring product experiences align with key business goals and deliver measurable impact.

For next-generation security solutions in Strata® Cloud Manager of Palo Alto Networks, I translate complex technology into intuitive, human-centered experiences.

Activity Insights - Activity Insights shows aggregated data per Strata Logging Service tenant deployed in Prisma Access and NGFW environments. You can filter the data for a specific deployment. Activity Insights has different tabs. Each of these tabs provides an unified view of network data in relation to applications, users, threats, URLs, and network usage. Read the TECHDOC

Advanced WildFire - Ensuring secure file access with the industry’s largest malware prevention engine, blocking 26% more evasive malware and converting detection into prevention 60× faster. View Datasheet

Advanced DNS Security - Protecting DNS traffic and stopping advanced DNS-layer threats in real time with 2× more threat coverage than competitors. View More

IoC Search - User can search on a security artifact to interact with data just for that artifact. The artifact’s history and activity in your network. Using this data, you can assess how prevalent the artifact is in your network and compare to Palo Alto Networks global data. Palo Alto Networks threat intelligence on the artifact, based on analysis data of all traffic processed by Palo Alto Networks. Passive DNS data that is used to populate the Passive DNS History widget (for URL and domain searches) is generated based on user data from telemetry collected by the firewall.

Security Lifecycle Review Report - Security Lifecycle Review (SLR) reports summarize the security and operational risks your organization faces, and breaks this data down so that you can quickly and easily identify how to reduce your attack surface. Each section of the SLR report focuses on different types network activity—application usage, web-browsing, data transfer, and threat prevalence—and surfaces the greatest risks in each area. SLR reports display your organization’s statistics alongside the averages for your industry peers, so you can best understand your results in context.

AIOps for NGFW - Enhances firewall operational experience with comprehensive visibility to elevate security posture and proactively maintain deployment health. It enables security teams to continuously improve security posture by optimizing configuration to their dynamic environment based on best practices and configuration recommendations. AIOps for NGFW also empowers network security operations teams to become proactive with ML-powered anomaly detection and actionable insights into the health and performance of the entire deployment.

I innovate and iterate on ideas to proactively shape future experiences, creating design artifacts — storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, visual mockups, and style guides — that ensure a cohesive and elevated experience. Working closely with UI engineers, product stakeholders, and UX researchers, I integrate customer insights and usability testing to inform design decisions and continuously evolve the platform.

2025

I am a Staff User Experience Designer with over a decade of experience spanning UX, product design, visual communication, and motion graphics. My strengths include shaping long-term product strategy, aligning diverse stakeholders, and mentoring teams to deliver scalable, human-centered solutions.

At Palo Alto Networks, I spearhead design for Strata AI Canvas, the company’s Generative AI platform for data exploration and intelligent workflows. I also guide UX for Advanced WildFire, Activity Insights, ZTNA Connector, SCM Reports, and Custom Dashboards. My focus is on defining product direction, elevating visual identity, and orchestrating a unified experience across interconnected systems. By partnering with executives and engineers, I streamline troubleshooting, reveal hidden insights, and enable AI-powered customization—helping security teams move from observation to action with greater efficiency.

Earlier in my career, I joined Lenovo as a Motion & UX Designer, contributing to the award-winning Aura User Interface and creating motion design across smartphones, tablets, TVs, and laptops. My contributions earned two national patents and received both the iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award, among the most prestigious recognitions in product and concept design.

From 2014 to 2016, I advanced to Senior UX Designer at Dalian Wanda Group, where I built the company’s first motion design team, introduced training initiatives, and elevated organizational design culture. I led projects across ten industries, including e-commerce, hospitality, real estate, and large-scale amusement park management. The integrated online platform I co-designed was hailed as pioneering and later documented in The Art of Interaction Design by Tsinghua University Press.

Seeking to broaden my perspective, I earned a master’s degree in Visual Communication Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology. There, I collaborated with astrophysicists to redesign the department website and visualize black hole dynamics through two-dimensional artistic representations. I also co-organized a national symposium on neutron star mergers, which was featured in Rochester’s mainstream media.

Throughout my career, I have consistently bridged business objectives with user-centered outcomes. I have built and scaled design systems, mentored junior designers, and partnered with leadership teams to raise quality standards and accelerate product delivery. I excel at navigating complex problem spaces, aligning stakeholders, and positioning design as a catalyst for innovation and measurable impact.

My mission is to transform complex problems into intuitive, inspiring experiences. By fusing design theory, creative thinking, and emerging technologies, I aim to craft solutions that not only solve real problems but also spark delight—delivering meaningful value to users worldwide.
