Introduction
Create one navigation and futuristic interface.
I was researching the astrolabe from the British Museum. After understanding the functions of an astrolabe and I sketched this holographic interface on the paper to try to combine a sense of astronavigation.
Astrolabe, an instrument formerly used to make astronomical measurements, typically of the altitudes of celestial bodies, and in navigation for calculating latitude, before the development of the sextant. In its basic form (known from classical times), it consists of a disk with the edge marked in degrees and a pivoted pointer.
In this 3D motion design, I would like to show one idea of conceptual astrolabe for future driving. In the future, people can drive the space shuttle to move to another galaxy not only just from one planet jump to another planet. This astrolabe idea includes spaceship azimuth coordinate, energy supply, surrounding asteroid belt, distance calculation and nearest galaxy direction.
I researched several data visualization designs, sketched the drafts. After that, I was using C4D and After Effects to create the video. My classmate, who help me about performance in this video.
